Guilded, A new voice platform

This dude uses it for his Community (which was seemingly created in Star Citizen) but he explains why it's a good platform to move to.

Legit just looks like a reskin, wish they went their own way and created something a bit more unique but my guess is discord just nailed the best way to do this

dont think theyll ever be able to compete with it, and imho dont even really see a reason to switch to it

They've got more integrated functions such as calender, check-list and other things.

They also have 'tiered voice chats' which essentially means you can make sub-categories in voice chats. The main voice channel can broadcast to all of it's sub channels with a separate bind. Making it a lot more attractive for military orgs or arma operations.

Essentially like you said, It's basically discord but there is a lot more done to cater to gamers/bigger organizations.

my arma 3 unit used to use it a lot for scheduling up until they updated something and it suddenly became not-so-viable anymore, i don't remember what though

and to be honest nobody quite uses discord/any other platform aside from teamspeak for arma 3 ops, maybe for other games though

As someone who has only poked into ARMA shit via friends, what makes TS more attractive than Discord?

Task force radio, it makes it so there are ingame radios that can be used by everyone with their own settings like range, frequencies, which a lot of people enjoy since they can just carry a short range for their squad and long range for command

plus, local voice chat is a thing with TFAR aswell, just makes comms more tidy

plus, local voice chat is a thing with TFAR aswell

also @Rabid direct range, 3D audio is probably the best with TFAR, you can hear the direction of the voices

on top of that, radios can be configured to only sound on one side or the other, or you can lower your headset, stuff like that

absolutely insane

Fleet command can speak within it's own channel, Using a special keybind fleet command can also broadcast to all it's sub-channels (Ground Assets, Air Assets and the sub-channels of those)


I suggest people watch the video if you want to find out all features, but currently I'm sold on this program.

It's also mainly directed towards organizations of a larger size.

I'll probably leave Discord behind once this big boy is settled in, I've checked the video and this is way, WAY better than Discord, it has so many things

i think discord's just been lazy cause it's been THE de facto voip program. maybe this'll kick it's ass into high gear and actually start doing something.
