2142 was made in Dice's hay day when they up for originality and innovation.

If it was made today or something similar then it'd just be infinite warfare

oh yeah, absolutely. It looks quite out of place seeing those four characters personally.
Although I give them a lot of leeway because it's the initial reveal and I've not seen wider context quite yet.
That and you can walk out onto the street and trip over 5 games that feature exclusively standard uniform WW2 US soldiers, so trying something different and out of the general comfort zone is something I welcome, might not work, but I'll give it a go anyway.
