I can use this thread to help build a summary of what LemonPunch was like. Multiple accounts of the same thing helps paint a full picture.

when i first joined lemonpunch, gurrazor added me and told me about his bdsm fantasies. in particular, he mentioned how he wished he had handcuffs during his weekend romp with katie (kateh?). rather disturbing. i don’t remember why he told me these things and i don’t really remember what happened afterwards.

Not exactly sure. Sometime in January 2013 - April 25th, 2016

What positive things were carried on from LemonPunch to nebulous?

The community morale. A lot of people were happy that a replacement was quickly underway, and only came like 2 weeks after LP shut down.

What mistakes did LemonPunch make that were learned from?

Making community-based decisions like a business. As I stated in the other thread, we eliminated all P2W aspects of the gamemode, as well as any potential unfair advantages gained from donating.

What are the cultural differences between LemonPunch and nebulous?

We're a lot more relaxed, however everything seems to be more involved. A lot of player choices affect what goes on in the lore (additionally getting to know more about the lore.) Another significant difference is the schema that we use.

What was the cultural significance of LemonPunch in Garry's Mod?

A lot of people hated it from what I understood. Mainly because it was big, but also the unethical shit that Gurrazor did in the background.

lp popularized a lot of mechanics (poison gas, crafting, etc.) too

Started in Jan 2013 when Gurra left a community called 2Score with the schema. Set up camp as LP.

Big following at launch, probably what kept it going, always had the numbers.

Positives? The right head staff moving over, a need to be way more open about the community and leave the toxic name behind.

Mistakes? Always be prepared for DDoS attacks when you’re this big. Make sure you have trusted developers/map designers (City 1).

Cultural differences - Far less pressure to get numbers higher, far less pressure to get people to subscribe, here to have fun not to make money.

Cultural Significance eh? I guess it brought quite a lot of people into the gamemode that may not have tried it before - it sure as hell kept Clockwork going as well as it did before Helix was released. It also brought together people like me who have been playing this gamemode since 2009 with people who’ve been playing since 2016 with fresh ideas to reinvigorate the gamemode.

Joined LP in 2014. the funniest thing I remember was the time Gurra and a bunch of others did a freestyle rap on teamspeak. if anyone has a recording of that, I'd love to hear it.

I don't remember a whole lot from LP other than I was a cringy spas. But I do remember that around a week or so before LP's shutdown people would fill up the channels where Gurra was and people would record this little meeting, but I think every time the video was uploaded on any video platform it'd get a strike and get removed (correct me if im wrong).
Then people would go against Gurra on the HL2RP server. Notable examples include the "put em in a coffin" video (wish i still had that), an admin (i dont remember who) permabanned Gurra after the final event (which crashed the server 3 times), and the one thing I DID save was this:

And every garbage bin had this message in the city.

I also remember some dude was doing improv singing about Gurra in the TS3 channel I was in with a piano or something and it was fucking beautiful.

Also a big thread which was kinda like a petition-meme thread hybrid with over 130 agree ratings and filled with memes. It was beautiful.

GTA Rp was in September 2013, they thought it was a good idea for me to be SD as I was starting Uni...

Experiment was 2017... I think? It was only up for about two weeks or so. It wasn't an LP thing.

I have the nebulous Experiment server noted as 6th July 2016 - 1st August 2016.

I've also heard that LemonPunch ran it too, and that before LemonPunch it had appeared in 2012.
