    You can make an anti-cheat without rootkits, there are plenty. And it doesn't really seem to ever do anything but cause issues.

    Honestly, all they really needed to do was make bans more severe rather than create a rootkit anti-cheat. HWID bans are the real stepping stone, and will probably stop a lot of people from cheating.

    Ah, yes. I always loved joining a server, only to have it ddosed immediately by a rival server. If only that was still common, that is when GMod was at it's peak.
