Suggestion: Remove Aluminium & Return it to just pure metal in crafting recipes.
Why it would be worth adding: Outlived it's purpose of economy-balancing and generally distracts from roleplay. For example, instead of roleplaying/getting engaged in situations, you have to sit by the recycler and make sure it doesn't get stolen. You can make aluminium with 10 metal in a Recycler regardless, so it's now just a timewasting activity.

removing already the little amount of script variation that exists, is a big minus.
gameplay, I mean PURE GAMEPLAY
is already lacking.

food is worthless, hunger rate is so low I can play HL2RP semi serious Impulse and hunger eat more there, than here.
so self sufficiency aka survival micromanaging is already lacking.
basic human needs, dont exist, in gameplay aspect
U just need to drink water once in a while

If we trim the resource variation to crafting,
and condense them into 1 type of metal, aka remove aluminium just for metal only
it'll just be leading to the same boredom.

I get the tedious thing u mention
but isnt that GOOD
that you have SOME gameplay focus at least, in the aspects of crafting?
Having an extra item take space, or at least be useful in any way, is good

The more you cut gameplay features, or items
AKA needing to do things INGAME, and not in pure rp
the quicker you lead to burn out

I am no craftsman,
but I imagine that if you cut and trim the variety of crafting materials(THAT HAVE USE AT LEAST), it just more and more becomes a very lacking on variation and gameplay type of thing
removing aluminium, contributes to this lack even more.

if ur containers are all organized with just metal, and yet another SCRIPT VARIATION, is gone from existence
even thinking about it
my boredom level has been raised by 20%

I bet aluminium will be refitted in the crafting rework that is likely being beaten on an anvil as we speak
but remove? nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

(u should get an extra container for aluminuim :) )

Issue is, the variation just makes it a complete pain to get any specific material.

When I was allowed to rp craft, I could substitute certain things for other materials.

For example, I could use a metal handle with lots of duct-tape instead of wood, or otherwise.

Getting any specific material is already a pain - As is metal, specifically.

Issue with that 'extra item' is that it's needless waiting, standing around and just staring at the recycler isn't fun at all, I'd rather just get straight to crafter or otherwise.

There's barely any active crafters to begin with, that I know of. There's myself, the tailor, and one other person I think, and that's all activity-wise.

To get materials, I need to find them in crates, or tear apart a new prop, which sometimes can appear (headcrab canisters, for example) which requires waiting on staff, and sometimes it's an outright no, or long since looted.

I literally have a shit ton of broken guns from donations, etc because I can't even get enough metal to repair them, as I need aluminium which requires 10 metal each and a bunch of waiting, and you need like 2 aluminium to repair a pistol.

Massively looking forward to that rework regardless, Gary's been doing some amazing work

my good hope
is that gun disassembling could solve this

or new extra ways of obtaining what you need.

if the recipes will get reworked nicely, along with adding gun disassembling, so you could harvest what you need...
it'll be good.

eventually, the whole RP aspect of crafting supplies, is that those that DONT CRAFT, come and give it to craftsmen, either by trade or as gift
considering they do come in loot, and that the rebellion is all as one man, together.

we can really see that all those systems are really interlinked
all these tiny gameplay features
kinda fascinating

the rework will eliminate this issue. all the final recipes are going to be combinations of base resource items (Metal, Wood, Parts etc) with some of the higher-end recipes involving rare "stopgap" items (Grub Nugget etc)

the amount of scripts there are has no bearing on anything important

Grub nugget being in a recipe
implying the grub is not only THE FINEST BAIT OUT THERE
but now an extra economical use

grub stonks go high
