If you're not a man of US Culture, it's basically what launched Keanu Reeves' career. A cult classic that reeks of 80's rock nostalgia in the 80's, it centers on a pair of rockers that can't finish their history final. But in the story, they receive help from the future, a time machine...So they decide to bring some historical figures back with them.
They had a sequel, but to be frank I never really got around to watching that.
