Can we consider letting the drivers set their own trip pricing in the app? Like there's the state minimum of $10 start then you could either A) let the driver change their per mile price or B) add a second surcharge, like a commission or tip that could either be per mile or per trip.
I'm NGL, why drive a taxi for any reason besides getting a free car to get around when you're only being paid basically pennies for the occasional trip you get.
Either that or the state should be subsidizing taxi drivers so they're roughly paid at the same rate as delivery or taxi provided they're actually taking jobs. Like, the person calling the cab still gets the low taxi fare but the driver is still getting a reasonable check (in relation to other jobs) from the government for each fare they pickup.
