COD: Black Ops 4 Blackout

Just wanted to make this thread cause the Blackout beta is out for some of the lucky folks out there in PS4 and will be available for PC players (if you have a code) the 14.

I /REALLY/ don't like battleroyale, but I gotta admit it looks fun, it looks like PUBG but 10x better, and the gunplay looks and feels like cod, you can still die easily but you get armor first aid etc.

I'm sad they scrapped story for this BUT, I still hate to say it... It looks like a really solid arcade COD experience that you can have some fun with your friends, and definitely better than BF V, at least they haven't called us stupid yet. (Still red dead will take October but since most of us have pc only this is a good alternative :3)

What do you think about it?

EDIT: After trying the beta is a no from me, I can see the appeal but for me the game is just poorly optimized

and the core gameplay is eh, I mean it's battleroyale but definetelly not what I expect it to be. But the hud is sweet.

Oh, fuck - I completely forgot, I thought that RDR2 is coming in the next year. But yeah, this looks like a solid battle royale, the gunplay feels good from what I know. Generally speaking, this can be a really fun battle royale experience. In my opinion it's better to have a battle royale mode in which you will have fun with your friends than a campaign on which you will spend 12 hours of your life and then you won't ever play it

I just have some complaints from some footage I saw:

The inventory system/looting system is fucking trash, screams lazy design

Also some of these perks, like paranoia - you know what/when someone is aiming at you and one of them was a literal esp for your squadmates.

Hopefully it’s different for today’s PC beta. But for console it’s not too bad seeing they’re on controller.

I have high hopes for the game overall- even if blackout falls through and doesn’t meet expectations of the cod community I personally have Zombies to fall back on. It’s hard for a team that knows what they’re doing when it comes to zombies to fuck up a gamemode they’ve been working on for years so :ok:

cod just grinds out the same trash every year now because kids buy it anyway. gone are the days of waw and cod4 where they were interesting and had just one storyline. the multiplayer on the other hand has just gone worse as it's crammed with either cringe worthy emotes or microtransactions. zombies i don't think can topped from what bo ii offered

If it's Activision it can never be better than anything somebody else has done before (even PUBG, which even if they're fixing it now they still have a long road ahead). Sorry to break the mood, but they've turned CoD into an utter trash series, almost a recycle of everything they've ever made, and this looks like it will be exactly the same. I can't trust this stuff anymore, even less for something as exploited as the BR mode.

worse thing is people still hack on Cod4 and WAW. So you can't even enjoy the good games of the series.

CoD4 version 1.8 (community support, Leetmod) is very decent, fixes many bugs and also has a decent anti-cheat. Try it out, you may be able to enjoy it again :)

I'd say it's the other way around, as a sniper you have an opportunity, you want to make sure it counts

Call of Duty is played in small maps.

I highly doubt the map for a BR will be as small as CoD maps usually are.

black ops had some pretty large maps, as has any other call of duty in history that had functional multiplayer

They're still small maps for, let's say, 100 players.

You've got to be a pretty awesome cod player to quickscope at 800 metres, if you know what I mean.

The arena doesn't define the game, but it shapes the way players adapt and play in it.

Big maps or not cod is a fast paced twitch shooter with constant movement. If you take 3 years to line up your shot you will not get very far

for some reason the game runs smoother than black ops 3 which came out 3 fucking years ago

but yes i know ur feel my game looks like poop too
