Suggestion: Introduce different types of gas zones for admins to set
Why it would be worth adding: to spice up gameplay and give us something fresh
Necessary content: dev work
spore zone:
rather than needing a gasmask to traverse in the environment, instead you can go into these without any sort of personal protective equipment. the meter fills to 100%, at which point you need to retreat or you begin taking hp damage. you may only return once the spore bar has settled below 100%
the effects are more intense near certain types of entities (spores from xenian pack). near these you take increased spore meter damage and increased hp damage. inside these zones, you take decreased spore damage when wearing a filter and a facemask
the entities can be killed with "fire extinguishers" designed by the CIC, when sprayed they are removed, but the infestation zone remains and can never truly be 'quelled'. general maintenance needs be carried out in these zones to prevent it from becoming completely inhospitable.
dust zones:
same as above, although not as severe. can be countered by wearing simple facemasks, no filter required. things such as surgical masks, balaclavas. visually, it looks like you are stuck in a duststorm, prompting your character to regularly cough and it makes you move slower. no hp damage unless very low.
leech zones:
primarily to be used when traversing through dangerous outland areas, it requires players to have certain PPE or thick rubber clothing to prevent them from biting through. a pest at most, it will encourage players to seek an alternative route or build puzzles around them with crates so that they can safely travel through.
