I feel as if the reason for that was because they tried to take a secondary character, Greyworm, and force him into a primary character, but they never really knew what to do with them besides him being very loyal to the Queen. They ruined that characteristic by the fact that he didn't instantly take revenge for the Queen by killing Jon Snow. Just poor undecisive writing that was all shoved in at the end of the season.

Worst part about the whole outcome for me is that all of the unbelievably outstanding effort from the cast, set creators, musical composers, VFX artists, designers, costume makers, makeup artists, etc etc. were pretty much shat on by a pair of lazy writers

What annoys me the most is that Tyrion has no reason not to believe him. Varys’ characterisations have all been correct before, Tyrion trusts him and he’s always been correct with things he’s told Tyrion. He also had a better connection to Varys then he did Daenerys. he ratted him out for what? cos he had a crush?

I highly recommend watching "The Last Watch" documentary that was made which follows a lot of the production of season 8, it really makes me appreciate so much of the work that the hundreds of people working on the show beyond the writing team had to put in to make the show visually amazing
