Every time I launch GMOD and try to load the server I crash and the application shuts down, any advice?

Yes I've lowered as many settings as I can with reasonable range, yes I'll do anything you ask me to do cause I want this shit to work.​

about 70, I trimmed them down in a previous attempt to launch the server

That probably will work, but type cleanup_gmas in console for it to have an effect. You might be able to join after that.

when I had something like this, I'd verify cache whenever my game crashed and after 6-7 tries it'd start working again

Try joining the server with votra's autoexec enabled, and if that doesn't work give disorder's one a shot, too.

If neither of those solve your problem, I suggest factory resetting garry's mod. There should be a .bat file located in its directory.
