Heya, so I'm going to prepare my PC for the summer by dusting it out, repositioning the CPU fan (As I installed it incorrectly) and adding a new fan for the back (Aerocool Shark fan 12 CM) but I also wish to add a side fan. However, it appears that the open side fan is right in the middle between my graphics card.

So if I were to install a fan there, that half of the air gets sucked in from my graphics card (I have a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 that sucks the air in from the fans and exhaust from the sides of the card) and half of it hits the air where the GPU exhausts the air.

So I'm unsure what would happen and would I need the side fan to take in or exhaust the air? There's also an open fan position from the bottom but my case stands at 1CM tall on little feet and the bottom of the case seems to be covered in loosen cables.

Do you guys have an idea of a solution about this?

Relevant specs:
  • Coolermaster K350 - PC case with a front fan (intake fan)
  • An unknown fan in the back - Exhaust the air out of the back
  • Xilence M403 Performance C Series - That's currently placed in the wrong way, the CPU fan is facing the case fan in the back
  • Gigabye Geforce GTX 1070 G1 gaming - 3D fans that takes air in from open air fans and exhausts it around the sides of the card
If needed, I can take a picture of my PC case.

Post a picture so we can identify the problem in more detail. Be sure to show us the positions.

So here's the open fan installation I'm talking about, so a third quarter goes beneath the GPU and the other quarter above.

This is the inside of the case. I noticed there's a problem with the front fan the takes the air in. The GPU blocks it and consumes all the air from the front fan where the CPU may only get air from the GPU where it exhausts it around.

Now the cables below, I've found a possible solution to put them on the side although there are still cables blocking the air if I were to install a fan on the bottom.

Jesus christ dude if you want to improve anything sort out your cable management; it fucks up the airflow

I know, but the case is literally small, the cables are quite tough to position them. Although my question still remains.

Considering the size of your case, are you sure you absolutely need another fan?
Unless you have a frequent problem with temperature it's probably best just to save your money.
I'd recommend http://openhardwaremonitor.org/ to keep tabs on your hardware if you're worried.

So I replaced my CPU fan in the correct way now, even moved some of the cables a bit more to the side now and moved the HDD lower, I think it'll go better now and I'll set up an intake side fan for my GPU and a bit to my CPU fan.
