shift tabbing usually leads to crashing

why the fuck does gmod crash so often with new steam ui, it's literally just gmod like 1/15 i shift tab there's that chance i fucking crash and it's so aids

anyways to fix it? or anyone with similar issues? i don't wanna leave mid s2k or something and get banned.

This is simply down to either three things;

• When you tab back in, your game is trying to load way too many things at once resulting in the crash (Does this usually happen within the city?)
• The steamoverlay itself crashes due to the extreme amounts of ram it uses.
• Too many addons

A simple way to resolve this is to tab in areas that are not as populated, for example in an apartment or better yet. Point your camera directly to the floor so your game doesn't have to load in as much.

It's more than likely just Steam UI being bad. Try not to keep too many chats/chat windows open, try changing settings in the "Size & Scaling" in Steam settings.

try deleting some addons. by some i mean at least 50 that you don't need or use, they are typically the cause for crashing issues
