I was on a four-hour road trip yesterday and listened to a podcast I'd never heard before called The Message. It was pretty good, and I thought I'd write up a quick post with some of my fav podcasts.
S-Town - Far and away my favorite podcast so far. Examines a backwards, small town in Alabama and a eccentric clock repairer who lives there. It's non-fiction and totally amazing. Definitely recommend, 10/10
Welcome to Night Vale - My first podcast. It's hardcore surreal dark humor in the form of a fiction community radio station that seems completely nonsensical with no real plot, but if you hang on for a few episodes, a bizarre story is established. Also features great indie music. 9/10
The Message - Listened to this yesterday. It's about a codebreaking team working to decipher a message that is likely extra terrestrial in origin. Very good, but kinda short, 9/10
Serial - Probably one of the most famous on the list. Season one examines a muder in Baltimore, and the second season examines an American army deserter in Afghanistan. Good, well-placed storytelling that examines every facet of these mysteries.
Those are a few of my favs. Please put yours below so I can find new shit to stuff my phone's sd card with.
