Different kind of crosshairs makes play better or worse, it's all up to personal presence without being unfair.
Me, playing CSGO for quite a long time but I never came above silver in the early days, I never had the perfect crosshair, but only a few crosshairs succeed me for a short period of time. Afterwards, you get tired of it and then you need a new crosshair. There for I want to share my crosshair history.
My first crosshair was a casual green crosshair, it was 100% staticed, it wasn't really special, sometimes I couldn't see my crosshair due to the bright enviroment and the bloom effect, it does quite annoyed, so I was not in fond of this.
Afterwards when I realized this map allows you to customize your crosshair easily: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=308490450
I head over to it and customized my crosshair, it wasn't much but then I switched to this crosshair:
The reason I head over to this crosshair, the orange colour was visible everywhere, as there is rarely any pure orange enviroment around all the maps, so this was the best for the visibility in dark and bright areas. However, due to this weird colour, my eyes is drifting off from it, especially from the dot. I feel dizzy looking at it and it does give off a weird colour on the walls and the enviroment:
I played with this for quite a long time but it was a pain in the ass, so I thought I needed to change it once again. So I moved onto this:
The light blue colour, a huge improvement, I am still in fond of this colour and I'm still potentially using it. However, I find it difficult to use this without a dot, I really feel I need a dot for this. So I extended the size of the crosshair and added a dot:
This helped me alot, but I found out that the crosshair was a bit too thick to use it, especially from long distances, so I noticed you can put an outline on crosshairs, first off I used it with the thickness, it was way too big so I lowered the thickness and put the colour back to orange, so I had this crosshair:
I wasn't doing well with this one, the dot was almost invincible, it didn't helped me alot. I didn't try the blue colour, but I decided to mess around and used this crosshair:
I did had a better aim from short distances, however, when it come to long distances, it was a nightmare, I couldn't see shit from long distances, making me unaware of enemies passing by. So I changed it back to the casual orange crosshair.
For fun I used this crosshair:
Again, it proved me well for short distances, but it didn't go well for long distances, so I thought I need another new crosshair and there for, I came out with this one:
I lowered the outline and thickness, so everything was still visible, aswell I lowered the alpha down to 150 I think, so I can still see the enemies from long distances, it helped me alot, it proved to be fully functional from every distance, so I played this with the rest of my games, but I noticed it does kinda stresses me out, because the dot was kinda weird, it was not in the center because of the outline.
And there for, I wanted to change for the 100th time, for fun, I tested some of the pro's/youtuber's crosshairs and holy hell, when I found this one, it was a legend crosshair!
I'm serious, I was so calm with this crosshair, it was alot easier to aim, that's because of the dot and the lines, two ways to aim at the enemy, 2 in 1, the alpha setting was set to low so I can see through the crosshair, it's also like I'm aiming down sights all the time, encouraging me to go for tap headshots and I did. The dot was visible aswell due to the colour. My aim was immensively improved with this, so I believe that this is my crosshair.
Also, do you wonder who made this?

Pro tip: CSGO is all about team play, so don't get cocky and greedy when having a favourite crosshair > : (
