Yeah, I know why most haven’t played it. It’s legitimately one of the best VR experiences but I don’t think it would meet the standard for a good game if it were a regular one.

VR is what put it over the top. It still plays and functions like a half life game with new innovations and a killer story.

Replay it with the commentary after you play through the first time if you don’t know the ending

Yeah, it is what makes it good but it’s not an amazing game by itself, only because it carries a big name like Half-Life. If it were the same game by another IP it would be a different reception.

i dont even have a vr headset but nothing about it strikes me as extremely innovative except for maybe the finger tracking or whatever

also they ruined vortigaunts so it immediately gets a 2 star review on yelp

It's a unique experience in VR that's very much worth playing but if it were a regular game on keyboard and mouse, it'd only be getting praise because of Half-Life in the title.

It’s weird how it works in VR. Everything has to be super high resolution because players are gonna fuck with it, from cans to pots to a piece of bread. People reportedly spent like 30 minutes in literally the first area just fucking around with stuff.

I remember a couple or so years ago I saw a YouTube video of someone predicting hl3 was gonna be a vr game because I had to be something as innovative and ahead of its time as the previous titles.
