when will people realize that outlands suck

rebels had an entire outlands with very little threat realistically and very little science happened

it'll just be the same

suppose we'll just ignore the instances where i've disabled and repurposed technology, had an event done to gather it, and created drones to spy on the combine from above

if vortigaunts are afforded the same liberties as rebels in the way that sitting about cause they have nowhere to go get's them pk'd and i can't do my shit with @Subeh without some one-sided danger getting us both permanently pk'd while the other side casually walks out with nlr i think i'd finally go the way of the dodo

theres a perfectly secure and extremely boring underground bunker in the sewer for people who want to passive forever (its very small and the sewers are boring), i'll even auth out plants and stuff so you can live forever on your own produce. im a firm believer of passive role playing if thats your niche.
the setting for this one is topside roleplaying though there's enough alleyways that (and as blue street as proved, civil protection players are epic and play along 8)) you can just find a cornerstore to live in instead.

the outlands premise killed the city, you physically can't do both. there needs to be a very clear focus. aint no OUTERLANDS in bam smack london engeland or whatever urban shithole we're gonna piss down into. @Bio Junior you'll be ok son

and @Chezburger that science lab can still be stuck into said bunker for whoever wants to game there and whatnot. personally i think you should do a different character for a bit and see what else you can come up with. let tel vurr do his science stuff for a bit in Japan Tokyo and roleplay another guy that has a makeshift lab in his apartment lost in a maze of streets.

All PSI does is sit around taking up the edict limit whilst occasionally making antidotes for black headcrab attacks.

Or have a single pet houndeye that pops up infrequently and serves no purpose outside of looking funny

I mean if PSI did something impactful like make a defense system that isn't just a femAI camera, then it'd be more pertinent to include in the new maps

but with all those computer and camera props, it seems like no research actually gets done.

Night is literally one street + sewers.

Froyo is heavily expanded and retextured.

im not saying you have to, theres still more than enough space to accomodate the psi labs although far more cramped than anything before. and i absolutely get maining a character. but u wont know until u try

If it were reduced in what it is, then it'd be more acceptable to be left alone.

But PSI is presented as this huge neutral faction, with the capability for loads of possible science to be done and yet very few actually want to do it. It also manages to get away with taking up fairly large portions of the map dedicated to placing down fancy science props that'll likely only be seen by either the handful of people that work there, or the few people that occasionally walk inside for whatever reason (which is almost always medicinal).

If you wanna have a big pro-science faction, then you'd do better converting PSI into a faction of Medics and Doctors rather than one of scientists. Medicinal and pharmaceutical science is far more useful to the Resistance, and people would be more tolerant of the props if you had them focused on a more hospital-style theme. Stretchers, IV stands, Vitals Monitors, that sort.

That is true.
I just personally think that the high-fidelity, alyx-themed models we currently for some stuff use will just kind of conflict with the beta aesthetic of froyo, but nevertheless it's a good map.

Also I think cops should use the retrocop skin for this map.

Also I just wanna say comparing a 100% passive roleplay focussed rebel group in Psi to 90% of them which are focussed more around guns shooty bang bang is an incredibly disingenuous thing to do. Of course they won't "do much" to the average rebel who barely gets involved with that side of things. In the week my char has been part of Psi I've gotten better and more interesting RP than I did running around the OL looking for it.

Psi have literally been around for almost three years at this point, trying to discredit them when most comparable groups fizzle out in a month or two is meh.

Psi has a distinct goal and it constantly chases and seeks to follow through on said goal. Defined motives with consistent outcomes.
90% of the rebel resisting GUN MAN scene is talking about combine and how its bad and then doing nothing.

actually just recently we had an event to bring stuff for PSI to prevent us getting constantly fucked by antlions and their big guards, they aren't useless at all, they simply don't do the /me builds or /me researches in a day to have everything like most of us do
