this has probably been asked but

will the server use RAGEmp or FiveM? asking because i've recently tried GTA RP for the first time and RAGEmp crashes all the time and I was only able to join a server once.

That's a tricky one because of how also powerful that would be. It's definitely something we've thought of, unsure if we would want cops actively checking known criminal radios either too.

dispatchers are a thing right? like actual people that run shit

maybe a high-risk high-reward manhunt kinda thing, pops up in a circle on their map of the general area of the reader, the longer it runs the more it shrinks making it easier to be found

cops coordinate with dispatchers to find them, so maybe they’d have to work together to prioritize shit in situations

I don't want to make that sort of mechanical replacement for something that could be RP and player action, there will be mechanics for things like a manhunt to make it more intense for sure.

I think it'd be cool to listen to either side, but with the requirement of having that specific kind of radio, a PD/EMS radio being contraband for non-PD/EMS.

I just wanna corner the illegal pd radio market.

I wouldn't, especially not for cops scanning around for criminal radios. all it takes is one cop to get a civ radio and start scanning channels one by one or one guy to leak all the frequencies

i don't think anyone would have the attention span to scan every radio station for crim activity unless they're on a coke binge.

going from 001.0 to 999.9 is a lot of cocaine

a counter to your common freq getting leaked is...switching to a different freq

Most police departments use digital radios nowadays anyways. Unless they’re voluntarily releasing their radio traffic, good luck trying to listen to what they’re saying.
Even the ones that do let people listen in have plenty of other channels for ops and calls that don’t get shared.

yeah but then all it takes is one guy leaking out your radio and then suddenly the cops are silently monitoring you for the next 6 months, leaving you confused and wondering why your heists are always garbage. any time I've had to hunt down a rat like that in any RP I've played it's never been any fun, you'd rather just be doing what you actually wanted to do in the first place

Cops will definitely be able to read the radio you're on if you go down and listen in on it, it's up to you or your boys to change frequencies but cops definitely won't be camping frequencies also, they won't be able to be on PD radio at the same time.

You'll have 100.00 - 999.99 frequencies at your disposal, I'm sure that's enough.

not being able to be on PD radio at the same time is a good compromise for it. I keep forgetting that this isn't a gmod thing and there's not a list of 40 people+ all of their friends who can see the logs spanning 3 months and all the radio frequencies to toss out between their boys for snooping
