To be fair I quite like the rank leader responsibilities setup prior to dispatch returning.
Mainly because they've got a regular OTA presence giving them shit to do a good job

Dispatch is very utilitarian.
I don't really have much on that aside from finding the RLs more interesting.

historically HC sucked because the servers were ran by 14 year olds, those servers would have still sucked even if those 14 year olds used iterations and dispatch

everyone playing hl2rp now is either 20+ or nearing 20 surely we can expect more maturity from the playerbase by now

Yeah but even on an IC basis you can be absolutely stunted because someone just doesn't want to promote you or doesn't like your character. Likewise, if you do something obvious you are more likely to get seen through just because nobody is stuck in the confines of the AI.

Neither of these are an issue w/Dispatch.

Bearing in mind even with the RL's being in charge there's been OOC drama due to RL's being very human characters making decisions people didn't like that could have been construed as OOC bias.

there are no issues with dispatch and that's why i paradoxically don't like it. dispatch is like a smooth pillow, its inoffensive and very objective, the only manipulation you can do against it is just bold-faced lies that it has no way to prove or disprove.

i prefer the prospect of being able to climb the ladder in my own way instead of just patrolling for x hours until I've gained enough brownie points to be allowed to get more numbers
i want to blackmail my commanding officer
i want to assassinate the guy who's next in line for a promotion
i want to make deals with rebels to stage a false flag sweep so i can look good to my superior
and i don't want this to be considered "rogue," i want this to be the norm within the faction

civil protection is housed primarily by thugs, gangbangers and people who said fuck humanity i want to work with the aliens
they ain't moral people

On the earlier city iterations was there a specific branch of Civil Protection that dealt with criminals? Like on Gmod biZ it used to be a JURY officer that would handle executions. Has that kind of system changed for HL2RP²?

Only vaguely similar thing was the detectives (plain clothes, no tagline, part of the CP faction on the scoreboard) last iteration, where they solved crimes. In reality, they did very little, because there were never any intuitive crimes to solve, and cops usually just did the investigations.

Meh, so be it. K-1's been on the iteration since the start and has fluctuated between 25-50 constantly because the RL's don't like his cult. It's a byproduct of the human system, and it's fun.

Since when has anyone done anything interesting with high command like this? Constant inter-service rivalry involving out and out assassinations and threatening to hand in even more corrupt officers to higher authorities if they don't play ball with you? SINCE FUCKING WHEN?

Questions about who watches the watchmen and can act as an authority to keep things from escalating because the Combine isn't staggeringly retarded enough to let their main state apparatus of oppression become an autonomous self-assassination machine during a goddamned war (the security council maybe? and how do their own affairs interweave with Civipro ones if so? what about after C24?) and how this interacts with the rest of the server instead of having Cop RP become an insular faction outside of patrols, sweeps and maybe paying some noncharacter hitman to cap your commanding officer in the skull at best are worth posing here.

Oh, and the fact that C24 is ultimately temporary and having this shit going on while Civil Protection is assigned to fight in uncontrolled zones alongside the Transhuman Arm under the command of Overwatch is...Improbable.

I'll listen to whatever Raiden has to say but for the love of god in heaven those titles have to change

Especially SeC, whoever came up with that gem and the implications behind it should have a dagger plunged through their skull.
