Description: So I out of curiosity decided to try and take all the packages from my van and use a different car to do the deliveries, but when I got to the delivery locations, despite having the packages I was unable to deliver any of them. I then drove back to my van, got my van, then drove all the way around and delivered the packages, but then my van got stuck so I used another car to drive back thinking it'd be fine and when I clocked out, I didn't receive any money.

What should occur: The only important thing from the Delivery Job should be the packages, not the truck.

Prerequisites: Another car that you have keys to at the depot and another at the last stop you're going to do.

Repro steps:
1. Load character.
2. Navigate to the Delivery Driver Job location.
3. Approach the job NPC and interact with them.
4. Take a 12 package inner city job.
5. Approach the back of the newly spawned delivery van.
6. Unload the cargo into your inventory.
7. Get into your other car.
8. Navigate to any of the delivery locations.
9. Pull out a package and approach the delivery location.
10. Observe as you're unable to drop off any of the packages.
11. Navigate back to your truck.
12. Enter the truck and drop off all of the packages.
13. Exit your truck and enter another car.
14. Navigate back to the depot and complete your deliveries.
15. Observe the lack of payment.

This sounds like it’s working as intended.

An inconvenience to you, perhaps, but not a bug.

Using the provided delivery truck to make deliveries for the company you are working for and having to return the truck to its proper location were deliberate design choices similar to other servers.

If you wanted to start up a player owned delivery service for player sourced/provided items (food delivery as an example) you can certainly do that in whatever vehicle you wanted though, it just obviously won’t be supported with state funds (aka money being put in your pockets out of thin air).

I don't think players should be punished for getting creative on how they do their job, and in any case, if it is intended having it be so there's some kind of indicator that you require the truck would be a good QOL update, and especially for finishing the job - if it's not gonna pay you it'd be better if it didn't let you clock out unless the truck was there - kinda how the taxi return does it where it says the car isn't near enough.

It does tell you to bring the truck back at the end of your deliveries, does it not? I think the implication is there you do need it before you finish the job (you should be hitting finish job too, not just the clock out button). Letting people clock out without the truck though gives people the ability to quit a job mid run for whatever reason, especially if the truck is stolen, blown up, or impounded. They’ll just have to start a new run if they want pay. It’s not that big of a deal imo.

Anyway, you’re not being punished for being creative in doing a job, just for doing that specific job wrong. Which, I mean you were. Nothing is really getting in the way of you starting your own player-to-player delivery service with whatever vehicle you want.

Pretty sure this is intended. You are doing deliveries for a company so I would expect as much for them wanting you to use their vehicle. Without that intention you could just deliver everything in a super car.

You can clock out of taxi and keep the taxi to drive around
I'm aware of that bug as well but I moreso meant if you try to return the taxi and the taxi isn't there the UI will inform you that the taxi isn't close enough, using the same code with minor tweaks could allow you to inform the player the delivery truck isn't close enough to the delivery location and the depot for the return.

I’m fine with the way it is tbh. It gives people the latitude to abandon the job with or without the truck.

People who intend on completing the job to get paid will bring the truck back and if they don’t then they don’t get paid. If I took a job in a company vehicle and I lost it or I fucked it up, dealing with that comes out of my pay.

Being able to clock out shouldn’t be reliant on the truck being there. Being paid should (and does), but the player abandoning their truck and subsequently not getting paid is a player issue not so much a mechanical one.

Regardless, more clarity is required - assuming the player knows exactly what is needed isn't a good idea, especially when we already have the ability to do it. Another player, quite literally right now on the server did the same thing I did, which shows it's something that other players will also do.

We have the ability, it just needs to be applied to the delivery job. Simply a pop up where it says "drop off" it just says "Delivery Truck is too far away" and where it says finish job it should say that too, just like the taxi return.

Very small amount of work for a useful outcome.

Thanks for letting us know :)

I'm sure @Jaydawg can add something that gives more a notice/instruction to the player that they have to use the vehicle provided
