I have tried to tackle people a handful of times in order to try to lessen the amount of times I am having to deploy a taser in the field, and I have realised that you have little to no time to arrest the individual. I believe a remark was made that you ideally need a partner to help you arrest the individual that was tackled, but more often than not, you somehow end up restraining your own partner rather than the culprit in question. Which means there is no merit or benefit to trying to tackle people in contrast to using a taser in an attempt to arrest an individual. To put it bluntly, it is unreliable as a method of arrest right now.

From my perspective, it looks like the tackled individual is capable of getting up from the floor faster than the person that initiated the tackle.

The greatest pleasure I get from this game is seeing 2 cops handcuff each other, it is the ultimate high and gives me the will to keep on living

I like to imagine there’s like a small cartoon cloud when the cops tackle the guy and they exit the cartoon cloud looney toon style with handcuffs on

This is less of an issue with tackling and more an issue with procedure, the taser and tackle do the same thing for a suspect except different durations.

It also seems like a huge risk to be solo chasing someone on foot, would be very easy just to have yourself beaten down.

It’s not really a bug.

The main issue is the fact that the individual that initiates the tackle is stunned for longer than the individual that is tackled. Furthermore, when you assist an individual that is performing the tackle, you can arbitrarily handcuff the tackler or the tackled individual. It is a far safer bet to simply deploy the taser to circumvent this risk rather than play Russian Roulette with the handcuffs which will more than likely backfire on you.

I am simply proposing that a change is made to this strange imbalance since presently there is no merit to tackling people whilst in the process of arresting them. It's too unreliable and unnecessarily risky to deploy.

That’s not always the case.

It is certainly much safer to deploy a taser to a fleeing suspect. I don’t even think the PD training says to tackle suspects?

It’s also completely fine if you tackle and they get up first to continue fleeing. We don’t always need to get the arrest first try.

it doesn't really need to be reliable, because cops have plenty of other tools at their disposal. it's not like the arrest has to be made as soon as humanly possible. I have a big issue with cops immediately deploying a taser as soon as things transition outside of a vehicle, it's much less infuriating to be immediately tackled because of the air of uncertainty with how reliable it will actually be

I find it pretty funny when cops cuff each other, anyways
