Why did CS:GO die? Dota 2 = A game that doesn't need better physics or graphics yet they use Source 2 on that game because why not?

They add nothing new to the gameplay, all they add is more items that is ultra rare (gloves) so people can gamble and/or sell them on steam market. Valve only cares about money so expect CS:GO to die.

I used to play CS.
Keep in mind i'm under 13 and was an MG1 when my PC broke and got set to unranked with sweaty smurfs and then my pc became unusable...

Hate when people give excuses why they lose matches/can't win. If a smurf is in your map, try your best to outplay him or use your team. You lose? Watch how he played those rounds and maybe think of a way to throw off his strats, aka frags/smokes/incins.

i just said i didnt play so i got deranked then i lost a bunch because i'm bad

May I also add:

The peak of the game's playtime was in 2016 and dropped off only once after Operation Wildfire ended.
Despite that sharp decline, there's actually still been players coming to Counter-Strike and it is still growing (2016 was also a better year for the game in regards to the amount of players the game has).

Anyway, if the player-base gets smaller, it's technically better for the game because they are likely to be more dedicated to the game.

You watch these statistics when the next operation comes out, it'll create another record spike of player activity.

CS:GO is actually kinda far from dead, albeit the hype around it dying a little bit the player base seems very healthy in comparison to a lot of other games, infact, it's one of the most played games to date.
