Bethesda has been revered for their creative games, but lately it seems like they're sullying their reputation. They've been rereleasing / remastering their games and adding new features that few people seem excited about. Gamers are starting to say they've got nothing new to offer and are just milking the consumers with unoriginal products. Whaddaya'll think?

They're not out of original material. They're making Wolfenstein 2, but I haven't played any of those games, so I can't speak to how good they are. My opinion is relatively indifferent, but I am missing being excited when they make an announcement.

>revered for their creative games

their games aren't creative whatsoever.

they've bought the rights to most of them.

Okay, granted, maybe they aren't totally original if all the source material is from somewhere else. But games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim include massive worlds chock full of creative content that the Bethesda staff is responsible for. All I'm asking is if their glory days are done.

Fallout 4 and Skyrim are the best games I've ever played. Everyone here should buy them, my fellow forum roleplayers.

They're milking the hype for the RPG as much as they can, it's quite typical of companies to do this. They don't have anything to lose, if not the resources to port the game to another platform and so on.

They just came out with Prey, which... eh
EDIT: Making Wolfenstein 2 like you said. More Dishonored 2 DLC.

They still are just catering to the people they want to, milking their own stuff with the addition to prey. Any company is going to milk their successful stuff, just like Myoga said.

I felt as if Prey wasn't really hyped up enough. Me personally? I didn't like it. It felt more like Half Life than a Bethesda Game.

I thought Prey was great.

There were some aspects I like. TBF though, there is probably some games I like that you despise.
[doublepost=1499007387][/doublepost]I mean I prefer RPG games where there are plenty of side quests.
[doublepost=1499007407][/doublepost]For example FO4's SQ's were well though out.
[doublepost=1499007443][/doublepost]But I agree they are milking too much.

To me, I thought it was fine to remaster Skyrim. But charging full price (probably because of mods and just because they can), is absurd. On top of this, PC players getting a copy of Special Edition for free if they had the base game while console players were left in the dust. And this is coming from me, a neutral gamer who plays mostly on PC. I would consider that type of bullshit unfair. The least Bethesda could've done is charge half-price for Skyrim: SE. Though, realistically the most it should've been was $40 across all platforms.

Bethesda scraped the bottom of the barrel when they released Skyrim. "Let's spend so much time developing a cool world and cool people"
"What about the gameplay"
"tap right trigger a lot and then hit the bumper occasionally"

Honestly, when it comes to these types of games, I'll take a deep, immersive world over flawless gameplay.
