Ive had alot of fun with the HL2RP server but after too many bullshit and frustrating things happening to me again im done and probably wont come back.

I lost a character ive had for years to a simple rule misunderstanding

I lost a character i had to the worst timing entering D4 in i17 at the same time as CP's sweep

And now ive lost my character, to RP i couldnt even read, because thats fair.

And all of these characters were 2 months or older.
My most recent death was of a character I inteded to become a loyalist, plan A for that failed, Plan B then failed, and so did plan C, D, E, and F, so yay, had a great time dealing with that total bullshit, then i became a rebel and ended up dying to bullshit.

In short, I can have fun on neb, but only in short bursts of RP with people here and there, the rest of it is just getting upset and stressed because i cant do anything, and i never wouldve even died had my CWU application not been declined for bullshit reasons (and then i tried to talk to the person who declined it about the reasons and they didnt even fucking respond)

I think you're taking this far too personally, Vanna. HL2RP isn't meant to be a nice setting. It's rough, brutal and violent. I think everyone here has lost characters - often multiple. If you take them all personally and get upset, you're going to burn yourself out. Yeah, I can't name a single person who enjoys losing characters but that's sort of something you get used to.

I lost my oldest rebel character because someone else caused a sweep and I got captured. It sucked, but it was just the nature of things. I lost my first Neb Vort to a surprise sweep and S2K in the basement. Same deal.

The unfortunate truth of the server, the same thing has happened to a lot of people including me, but in all honesty who cares about a /me at the end, surely it's about the time you had on that character that counts? I fucking loved playing my character and sure it's shitty when they die but all it does is let you try out other shit you otherwise wouldn't because you're maining another character

Most PK’s sadly have to be like that, some people don’t see death as a necessary part of your character, instead as a personal attack and won’t P2L, after all this is gmod, with scripts, it’s not like it’s pure 100% rp with no gains

I will happily P2L and die if i understand the reasoning and why and its fun RP but that just just never happened to me, its always been just sprayed down and thats that.

Like I said above, thats the reality of the setting sadly. Not every character gets to go out with a big personalized bang.

They die in a hail of bullets in a sweep, or in an execution, or any other number of things.

To be frank with you mate not all of us have the OOC connections to get all of our shit back as easy as someone else, if it takes someone 3 months just to get shot some people might not want to play again, and that's pretty acceptable in my eyes because we have lives to get on with, not all of us have 6 months to spend just to learn from the mistakes of the 6 months past

But equally everyone here has lost characters and bucked up about it without a thread. I personally think a goodbye thread would have said enough instead of the venting.

Agreeing with you there, but my point was that we can't just get an MP7 and blacksuit in a day unlike the people at the top. I think it's probably an overreaction to do something like this thread but I think the reaction itself is warranted and justifiable.
