So fun fact about TLA and that event; they were ripped wholesale from TnB by Ice (the event was never his though, he took that, but nobody knew). The faction was his excuse to try and get tanks and shit and basically make the resistance an army. It was universally hated outside of those who got free guns because they'd grab new players and use them as fodder.

You could probably tell by the fact that event was showing off his hyper-militarized guns and his faction as being superior to everyone on server rather than having anything to do with actual characters.

At least City Of The Dead had some great S2K that wasn't tacticool fan-wank.

some times I'm sad that my PC broke like 2 weeks before the event so I couldn't participate as big conscript leader man(tm)

but then i remember people thought the event was shit and now i can't be blamed for it :lul:

second of all, city of the dead was a trainwreck but it was a marvelous one.
the finale of part one was literally the recreation of d-day in the hl2 setting
down to the casualties taken by the rebellion and the landscape of the scenery

i will never forget shouting obscenities at @Lemon Cuntcake as the 5 remaining survivors of my
thirty person squad tried dragging me away from the combat as i slowly bled like a lil bitch.
rando was like one of the 3 survivors of that assault who actually managed to survive without
getting his ass nlr'd

it was an experience
