As someone with only around 4-5 completed tours with no real experience beyond, I beg to differ.


I can reliably top score with heavy or pyro on a random pub match, never had the chance to properly practice against people with actual experience lmao. Games I play are either "I destroy everything" or "I can't even leave spawn without dying and feel exceedingly tired by the end of the match" with very, very rare in-betweeners where there is actual competition. Such is life for a pub player

I recommend you try https://tf2center.com if you want to play against somewhat decent players. Stomping pubs isn't something special, especially with heavy or pyro, both are extremely easy to dominate the entire server with.

I'd recommend you try 3rd party 'lobbies' that are designed to feel as close to the real competitive (not the actual TF2 competitive but UGC or ETF2L experience)

Scout = Do nothing but run around, collect money and deal damage. Prioritise getting money over anything or you'll prolly get kicked
Soldier = Use stock and buff banner and deal damage
Pyro = The one time the phlog isn't a piece of shit, also extinquish teammates
Demo = Sticky spam, use scottish resistance or stock. If you demoknight you'll prolly get kicked
Heavy = Main damage dealer - use stock or brass beast since its not shit in mvm
Engineer = My favorite to play in MVM, not a lot diff from playing engie on defense - use rescue ranger/wrangler
Medic = P much use medigun/kritzkreig to maximize damage and obviously heal teammates + block projectiles with the shield
Sniper = Why are you playing sniper, pick something else
Spy = What are you doing, pick something else

Sniper is fucking great in MvM, sadly most people can't aim or are born with sweaty and shaky hands.
