As a Russian, I can say that Russian films and songs, raps, musics are totally shit comparing to the other ones from other countries.
Well of course, not everything is so bad, but raps? Pfft, I can only hear depression, sadness and grief coming from them.

+ like almost all the rap is legit the same, I don't like it that much either. Lots of Russian music that isn't rap is good though

That's the thing that makes Russian musicians throughout history so passionate and emotional when it comes to their music. There's something about the social or cultural atmosphere of Russia that inspires such unique riffs and style that's not replicated in any music I seem to find anywhere else.

It's rough because as someone who can't read/type Russian/cyrillic, it's hard for me to search for more. Russians have historically always been somewhat of an oppressed people with the state always more than willing to throw its peasantry and citizens to the slaughter house to serve its imperial interests.
