and obviously not serious.

i think the UM faction should get an overhaul on activity checking, as well as actually have consistently online players that don't have to be called to flag up in OOC when someone is injured. if you're gonna apply to be a doctor then you should try and stay active and flagged up for a majority of the time that you can.

i think the Zombie faction shouldn't be application-needed, or even if it is then i don't think it should be put behind the premium paywall. a faction that has literally no genuine ties to any other factions, simply being there for the rp, whilst also being restricted to having said rp be restricted to being in P2L in most situations is fairly shit cos a lot of people (myself included originally) pay premium in order to have a go at being a headcrab/zombie. This doesn't mean having no faction lead, it just means that those who pay for the whitelist (and as it states on the store) are given the whitelist after asking an SA for it. being given a general set of rules to abide by seems fair, and going against these rules would result in, firstly, a warn and then secondly a dewhitelist/blacklist.

i think the CWU's changes from having 4 divisions down to 2 make the faction a lot less fun and a lot less viable for new players to RP in. administration and industrial don't really have much fun to them, because one is essentially just "people work" and the other is "city work". at least back when there was 4 divisions people could genuinely have their own 'unique' perks to being in a specific division, with their own quotas and spins on stuff.

i think the USE faction is fairly boring. i don't think i've ever been able to witness any broadcasts, because it feels like it happens that infrequently that it almost never actually happens and is just an excuse for people to get red tier, and to have artificial popularity.

i think the Terminal is underrated and creates many good pieces, though has little actual representation or acknowledgement on the server outside of a whitelist and usually the red tier boost + a pin. I miss @Knight 's amazing pieces as the legendary Powers.

i think the Senator faction has very little overall purpose outside of being the equivalent of 'super loyalist'. the laws and constitutions, whilst obviously taking a lot of effort to make which i highly appreciate and respect, don't hold much IC wise as most of their work is usually forum-based, outside of the occasional event for loyalists or being a high-priority target for rebels. it's like having a character be above the law and have so much protection yet having little actual value.

i think the Rebels having the Railway being a Contract hub is fairly pointless, as the contracts favour those who already have things rather than those who just want to go out there and try something new. the Traders, too, as they work with the Railway essentially kill off any Token or Barter economy as (despite it being a banned suggestion) the Railway still use what is essentially their own currency, rather than the given IC currency. yes, having supplies be used in place of currency is for the most part useful however it is only useful for those who are already things like the Traders and Crafters. normal people who have obtained tokens essentially lose any value they have from those tokens, and it puts me off doing any actual RebelRP.

I'll probably add and change opinions over time.
if you wanna dispute my beliefs and opinions then go ahead, just don't flame and don't be an ass.

why did not not post this as a suggestion
i dont wanna suggest stuff in this kind of magnitude, cos i know how different each suggestion is from each other.
some of these things aren't even suggestions, they're just my opinions.

like i'd love to have some of these things come true, though a lot of people tend to disagree with me on stuff like this so i wanted to save myself the Bad Ideas, and just post what i perceive here so i dont spread my autism to others

this is already being discussed in the suggestions thread, i would really recommend you to move the resistance part there as it is being discussed there rn

Yeah
we're trying to write something up that may solve the problems, just check the thread and state your opinion there so it will be easier to come up with a response

done.
i know people don't tend to trust my judgement, which fair dues, but i kinda wish i could just control the rebelRP and fix it.
that wouldn't be right though, because the whole point of the rebelRP is freedom.
and controlling the freedom is paradoxical. no matter how ludicrous the freedom is.

wouldnt say so
everything needs to be overseed and have some sort of OOC control or influence over it, at least thats my opinion on it
OOC Control can be good, but controlling every aspect can ruin the fun of it.
some people be rebels because they want to feel like they have a purpose, like they're not like the regular UU citizens.
others do it out of genuine hate for the UU, and because their character has something that just couldn't work in the City.

the joy of rebelling is the fact that you can do things with little restrictions.
i've never understood why people want to ICly control the rebels. in the long-run, no force the rebels ever create ICly could ever do anything of major impact to the city without banding together under one banner.

we've had lots of people consistently active recently - how would you overhaul activity checks?

map's not built to allow broadcasts too well mate

I think having something like, a weekly documented Playtime as the faction during certain hours taking into account the players online.
I know that it's excessively complex, though I think that it'd majorly reduce the amount of times people have to ask in OOC for someone to Flag Up.

Even though the USE can't do broadcasts really on c08, that shouldn't exclusively be what the USE is for. It's Social Entertainment, which could include an array of things such as Books, Public Chats, Music etc.
I know lots of people didn't like the Piano, but in the right circumstances with the right people it could be quite nice for RP.

would you consider a time-based check for how many treatments are done in x days to be appropriate?

similar to how UM does it

I think if it was dependant on each individual Person, in the span of say every 2 weeks, could work.
It should also include people who assist in a given treatment, as obviously some people may be less qualified for a given treatment or there may be very few treatments in the given timeframe.

Hi sorry for a week late reply, I didn’t see your thread because I don’t check this section. Thanks for your comments about the faction being underrated and that we make good articles, I agree. ; )

As for the little representation on the server, this has been a big issue for every Terminal lead. I hope people have saw a drastic increase in activity since I became co-lead (and now lead) back in October 2018. I’m also open to suggestions and applications are still open.

I used to be in the terminal in the past.
It was a fairly okay faction, however I think that in a more modern setting they have little to no genuine representation that has significance on the server/in the cities, as a majority, if not all of, their work is forum-based.
If the Terminal were to have a greater impact on the server, rather than just the forums, then the Terminal will likely see improvements and a boost in recognition, however as it stands now all there is to gain from the Terminal faction is the ability to post stories on the forum, or propaganda if you're a good artist (but at that point, you could probably just OOCly work as a Media Developer)

We encourage all writers to go into the city and investigate stories there and interview people. That’s the only way they can get in-game interaction. The faction has changed since you were part of it, I’m sure.

From what I'm aware, the Foreign Correspondent is gone.
Other than that, I don't think much (if anything) has really changed, as it's the same old 'X goes into the city, Red Armband and Pin' to either take pictures or find recent events to write down. There's next to nothing else in the faction that I've seen actually happen, like nothing major lore-wise. There's no BEFEHEL or CASS, there's no 'dark underside', the faction's main 'fun' is writing up what is essentially downgraded lore documents.
The personal beliefs and views in articles is still present, and the most prominent figure in that sort was Isaac Powers, who I believe caused the most drama in the faction I've ever seen due to the outrageously different opinions he had, as well as his overall attitude and demeanour being so wild it made him essentially a martyr for free speech in my eyes.
That, and @Evie having her ex-Terminal member (turned CAB) have his tongue cut out by rebels.

I personally want to be an Event Manager, and I'd gladly create events for the Terminal and the other factions, but as @Slim tends to say, 'I shouldn't be the lead of anything'.
