I'm not suggesting /those/ comments be tolerated - but a meme post in the shitpost thread that ultimately hurt nobody? It would have blown over in the length of time this drama has been going on and there wouldn't currently be yet another night full of drama.

if he posted a dox i'd be fine w/ the ban, just like how not many people complained abt @Subeh getting banned - as that was a dox too


if you blanket a dox and a meme made days after a situation to poke fun as a reason to ban, then that's a slippery slope, and just makes people assume shit

I never said it was powley. When we banned for doxxing/tasteless memes it was seen as "WOW HEAD STAFF ARE CENSORING ME". What happens in that situation? Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

But that isn't how it is. I don't think anyone intended to start another DoubleD shitpost spree over Powley posting that meme. /Banning/ him and Pyro over the meme is ultimately what has caused this - and worse, its dragging the people who had no say or input on the decision into the general 'pot'.

As for the ban over the dox - people only said that until they realised WHAT he'd posted. Then it was a "oh".

Like if you lifted the bans and just shrugged this would all stop and it'd be done by the end of the hour. I think thats better than sitting through drama and giving people the belief that what they're saying is accurate.

personally, here's how i'd fix the recent mod issues:
-dont snip posts when banning (unless its a shock image / dox)
-dont remove posts when banning, instead leave it there and put the ban reason public
-give warnings / deletions before banning people

@Zarail the meme was one of those "hmm today i will" posts, featuring the DoubleD demotion and a few profile post comments in the various boxes

I mean it definitely was intended - it's an obviously sensitive issue given that hell was raised by a select few people. Making that much of a scene over demoting someone for very legitimate reasons (and their following attempts to "expose" the post even though it was completely irrelevant) screams nothing but wanting to cause a scene to convince people otherwise

@Slim I removed several of their posts with notifications before banning them, they decided to continue anyway

you're leaving out the important timegap wherein people asked on his profile "why the demotion" before we got told the full reason, which was when the memes promptly stopped

The full reason was given in the post by bq in the roster thread, there's nothing much else to say other than irrelevant details

We didn't want to put SPECIFIC details because then it would look like we were attacking doubled and that's not what we wanted - he doesn't deserve that kind of light and neither do we

If you view everything as having an ulterior motive you'll just get more of these situations. It was a meme that would have been buried and forgotten - hardly a stinging blow to anyone. If it was something /serious/? Then yeah, absolutely. But the problem is by banning over a meme the only person who loses out is the people who now have to endure yet more drama.

And ultimately this entire thing could have been avoided by just gritting your teeth and shrugging it off. It'd have been buried and forgotten and nobody would have cared by this point in time.
