large events are excellent because staff seem to be far more motivated when it comes to helping players. other than events, it seriously is a massive pain when it comes to asking an SA or administrator for assistance. not hating on anyone, it's simply how it's worked for me in the past

Just an anecdotal on the auths thing - echoing what Alex said, in my opinion it’s well and good to say “hey less auths should be needed”, and that would be GREAT, were it not for all the stupid shit people would ask for.

Telling you now, seeing the stupid, incessant, and frankly unrealistic bullshit I was asked for on a nearly daily basis (from people that are long time and well known members of the community no less) was exhausting. I cannot imagine how bad things would be with the wider server if auths were let up, especially to the lengths people describe

And this isn’t even STAFF experience - this is leading cab, a faction with at most 30 people, 10-15 of which ever had any modicum of activity. Imagine what happens when you scale that up to a community 7k+ strong.

The long-time and well-known members are the exact people who'll usually tell you one thing and do another with what you give them and that is on a GOOD day. Even when I've come back to help out as staff for events I'd give someone I thought I could trust something only for them to use it to cause absolute chaos.

i set up trident, got it to the canals, got a pretty big base, moved between spots in the canals, did a whole bunch of other shit and none if it required auths; none if it even required ooc discussion. all of that was ic.

I mean u did have to talk to numbers and co to get us OTA gamers to come out for da event.... because of you being wrong your entire point is incorrect and now I believe we need complete ooc anarchy

No I’m definitely blaming the player base

They don’t do anything, vast majority are uncreative and don’t care for much besides le epic kino 120 slot event, a circlejerk rebel thing with friends, or getting unnecessary amounts of gear at the expense of others

it'd be rude to just blame them all honesty im sure a lot of them'd love to make their own roamplay but can't find the people to do so with it
