Yes, BUT.. like I'm TRYING to explain to you guys, medicine ISN'T the whole package. I've many times in my life had to deal with 'incompetent' doctors who do not listen, they don't believe you and they think they know better than anyone else.
Healthcare system in Sweden is fucked up, but the POINT is.. normal non-psychology-specialized doctors are not specialized in psychological matters and therefore are VERY unlikely to be able to help, nor even WANT to.
There is a reason why we have psychologists and psychiatrists. I am serious, doctors are VERY well educated, but when it comes to mental disorders and discussing them with NON-SPECIALIZED-in-such-matters doctors, they seem like idiots.
Because they didn't learn the majority of such, alright? Please, believe me from a lifetime of experience with dealing with both good doctors, and ones that aren't competent with certain fields.
Seriously, having grown up with mental disorders and having relatives with them, having to talk to psychologists and psychiatrists, et cetera, for ALL of my life, has taught me a LOT. And I am serious when I'm telling you this, but regular doctors.. I understand mental disorders better than them, most of the time. I'm serious about this, they never handle these kinds of matters.
I haven't 'JUST' learned from personal experience, EITHER. A load of these psychology-specialized people have explained many of these things to me throughout my ENTIRE life. So.. yeah.
Point is, please DO believe me when I say this: I'm not going to take advice on my medicine from a dentist, rather than my psychiatrist, who is a REALLY good and understand psychiatrist, by the way.
No offense, really. I just.. know. Okay? I mean nothing by it, really.
Tbh most of my knowledge is medicine that is prescribed for what illnesses and alternatives and the interactions between them. For example, since you're on Sertraline, you can't undergo sedation treatment etcetc
Also the 'sleeping meds' I mentioned at some point in one of my posts on my own profile or something, uhm.. they /aren't/ for my sleep. They're to make me less angry and to make me a bit calmer during the day, but without them, I actually CAN'T sleep.
Before I had them, as a kid, I remember it took me HOURS to sleep, because I was so hyperactive in the evening. I'm a 'nightperson', so I still pretty much is very active in the evening, hah. I can't stop thinking about shit. Luckily, these meds make me sleepy about an hour after I've taken them. So they suit me PERFECTLY.
I'm lucky I have enough toilet cleaner to last me a WHOLE LIFE!
;)
