Hey whats up guys, I don't really know if this fits within this Sub forum, or if anyone actually plays Jedi Academy or Outcast. please dont bully me if you have already seen this before
First Step
I will be going over how to get Jedi Academy/Outcast into a widescreen aspect and in 1920x1080. First find where JKA or JKO files are.
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Academy
Your directory could be different, but it's the same idea.
Second Step
In the Jedi Academy folder, go to Gamedata, and then Base. Then find jaconfig.cfg or jk2config.cfg
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Academy\GameData\Base
Now open the Config file with any text editing software, I use notepad++. (You can do this on both Multiplayer and Singleplayer)
Third Step
Now find
seta r_mode "1" Change the one to a -1.
Next find both
seta r_customwidth "XXXX" and seta r_customheight "XXXX"
Set X to your preferred settings. I have mine set at 1920x1080
Scroll to the bottom of the file, and add the following line:
seta cg_fov "95" or what ever you prefer.
Save and Now start the game and it should be in your respected settings.
Dismemberment Tutorial for Jedi Academy
In Jedi Academy the g_saberrealisticcombat is taken out of the game or is disabled. Even if you tried typing in the command g_sabermorerealistic , it would say it's write protected.
Go into your jaconfig.cfg in your Base folder:
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Academy\GameData\Base
Scroll to the bottom and add the following lines:
seta helpusobi "1"
seta g_sabermorerealistic "2"
seta g_dismemberment "3"
seta g_dismemberprobabilities "40"
seta g_corpseRemovalTime "0"
seta broadsword "1"
If you just want arms, legs and hands to be dismembered, change g_dismemberment "3" to "2".
Broadsword does something so the limbs are not so stiff.
Now, save the file and right click on the cfg file and go to properties at the bottom. A window will appear and under the General tab, go to the bottom where it says "Read-only" and "hidden", check off read-only. This will allow Jedi Academy not to edit the cfg file and disable the command again.
