Addons have to re-download?

So I left gmod for a good while, but I kept the addons on a hardisk, and when I finished downloading the game just today the workshop started downloading all those addons that are already put in the addons folder, which are the GMAs of the add-ons, I don't want to download the add-ons again because my internet sucks when it works with workshop, so is there a way to fix this?
