i like this series

Everyone likes is but question is

Did you watch EVERY single one of the episodes from the "Endless Eight" arc?

which is better, fan translation or official translation?

Usually when it comes to manga both are the same or almost the same, as long as you go for the english translations which tend to be the most accurate.

But obviously official is best.

Just remember not to watch dubbed anime but subbed with original audio and you'll be fine.

official of course

don't consider me an expert at all but sometimes fan-translations can lose things in the flow or try to stay too close to the japanese roots

I have every published book in the series and can safely say the official translation is the best you can get, it is as close to 1:1 as it'll get, every reference to japanese culture is there and not whitewashed for america

stay tuned to this post and I'll cite one when I find it in a spoiler just to give an example, it's actually pretty neat because it doesn't break the flow at all

edit: ok so fuck doing that actually but take my word for it, the only things you'll miss out is the occasional time the main character will refer to some japanese folk-tale or something, but it really doesn't matter much

the nagato spin-off btw was fairly different, the anime was alright but was pretty generic and stuff

the manga version of the spinoff is alright, the artwork is different but it's still ok, wouldn't recommend buying it though nor really watching the anime as there's not much point. only got like 4 eps in before me and a friend dropped it (at least, I dropped it)

sword art online is pretty shit ngl

mainly due to the fact that only 1/12 of the show actually takes place within 'Sword Art Online' when it had a sence of fear and was cool and good.

It has many plotholes, but out of the plotholes part it's entertaining and fun to watch. Some parts are fun and some parts are sad and idfk. I liked it, and enjoyed it. People should really leave critics to those who have it as a job, the rest of us are just meant to have fun.

Yet again... It's a half-isekai.....................

Fine I’ll actually complain about it
Firstly, the pacing of the show takes a huge boost for no good reason, there isn’t any reason for the female lead to instantly love the Male lead. The writes only did it because they needed that Male lead to be likeable and when he
“dies”
so you go “NUUU” but oh wait it doesn’t matter because he has main character shields that gives him 100% damage resistance OWO
Hell there is a scene where he legitimately CANNOT DIE oh wow I’m so invested now lads
Secondly if that wasn’t a issue the amount of bull crap all pull out “yes this child character is super human so yeah wooooooooahhhh” fucking hell :eyeroll:
Secondly, the main character is- experts on everything on the game because he was a beta tester. /Fastest reaction/ out of every single person in the game at the current time. S U P E R H A C K E R man and what else? You get to feel invested in characters because of their struggles not because they are gods among men,
Also a average looking Male makes every single female he glances at cum the fucking Niagara Falls.

There you go JC that’s why I did my first post ;)

Likewise - I wasn't saying it's not fun to watch. It's got decent animation due to the budget and the ops are pretty coolio

But when you look back on it - it's story was a bit oof

Rated funny.

Still enjoyable show, as I said there's thousands of plotholes, but it's fun and entertaining. Regardless of this, and regardless of how many objectively better shows are out there, SAO is his favourite in his opinion and that's still out of your reach.

That's why I gave that answer to you.

sword art online had so much promise

i started watching after episode 15ish so I didn't have the preamble of the actual show setup and it was a little jarring

nonetheless, it was at least pretty to look at, but overall just meh

especially shoehorning in his sister loving him for no reason even though he disappeared for 2 years or the egregious sexual assault at the end in a fantasy anime

Embarrassingly enough, I just watched "In This Corner of the World". I sort of knew what I was getting into by just the description, but about a quarter of the movie in a huge looming darkness started to fester in my heart. I mean, I knew it would inevitably get dark, but I never quite expected what I got.

It was absolutely lovely and it really does present WW2 Japan in a light that very little films ever seem to capture. I really enjoyed it, though I certainly need to watch something more light hearted now. An excellent movie - I cannot overstate how beautiful it captures life (in all its horror and all of its virtue).

That said, I also had the immense displeasure of watching Studio Ghibli's Ocean Wave. Holy Shit. That was a chore to watch and I will never get that time back. The only interesting part of that movie was how the writers were okayed in production. No development, no concrete plot, characters were almost mindlessly insufferable. The ending really just enslaved it to pointlessness.
