Blue laser & the alien sniper rifle: a thesis

Suggestion: REMOVE the blue laser from Combine sniper rifle

Why it would be worth adding:
I don't think we'll be able to use the sniper rifle properly if we're gonna be using 1st person exclusively because:

-We will not be able to properly aim at our target without alerting them way before.
-We won't be able to scout using the scope because blue laser + no third person to scout without peaking

But either way: laser for sniper rifle??????? why???? whose idea was it???? it was just a gameplay feature on hl2 so Gordon could outrun it...

even if we dont remove it: maybe allow it to be turned off so we could look through our scope without exposing our position (makes no sense...) and only allow it to fire if we turn the laser back on.

i never really understood why there was a wide ass laser beam coming out of a sniper rifle 24/7

This, I think the only counterpoint I can think of (and what some do in tf2 but even so the two weapons work differently all together I think) is just do your best to hide the tracer for a unsuspecting target. It's asinine that if you want to pick off long range targets you'd let them know where tf u are aiming and where u are.

lets put a warning on the radius of the impact zone of a mortar next

I'd prefer not to be domed from an unknown angle along with three of my buddies from halfway across the map - I'd say the laser is there for a reason: balance.

If one is going to complain rebels do not have lasers: the scoped-rifles deal less damage(?), have a small amount of ammo available and are in very short supply (I've only seen like...three altogether) compared to the combine-sniper. Can we confirm if Overwatch have access to a limited ammo pool?

There is only one person using the sniper on combine side (at the moment), the rebels have four (3xM40, 1xSVD [approx.]), but I don't see them out that often, and it honestly seems to me that I'm the only sniper that actually uses his rifle rebel side.
The damage difference isn't that big, SVD is ~120 @ semi, M40 is ~115 @ bolt, and CMB sniper is ~160 @ semi.
All of them can one-shot headshot, two-shot bodyshot a 100/100, and even 100/130.
Both the SVD and CSniper have insane recoil, so you can't really utilize the semi-auto firing mode.

The only difference is CMB having infinite ammo, and the laser (which doesn't render most of the time anyway).

Literally only see Skyshield, Ron and Ovxy actually use the Sniper. And even then - it's sparingly.

Things are balanced already, the Combine Sniper isnt like some super weapon the rebels cant counter...
