From what I've heard, these people are working with Valve.

To me, this feels like Valve launched HL2 with understanding that they were innovators and trend setters for FPS experiences. If they've been holding out on HL3 due to technology, with the development of a game like this, I can see them coming out with a masterpiece of the modern videogame industry that could potentially blow away all competition.

We're one step closer to GamerUtopia, and an end to GamerOppression.​

I've actually never paid any attention to the development of this, but holy shit.
For one of my university courses we were studying VR interaction and how to make it... well... immersive, through haptic feedback, visuals, whatever.

The fact that the hands articulate beautifully, the resistance they show when opening doors, the ax stopping when it hits the boxes, that is all grade A interaction, and most times will trick players into interacting with them the way they would be in the real world. Sure if you want you could probably fling these doors open and try to glitch things since they can't add physical weight to things, but what we noticed when testing stuff like this is that if it doesn't look janky visually, you won't be inclined to behave that way, and many will play along.

This looks like a super satisfying experience I'd love to try.

I've been watching Brandon's work like a hawk since the first mention of him working on VR games way back. This stuff has me super excited, the physics interaction is very intriguing. I guess even when Valve is involved it's gotta be something promising.

Reviews looking good.
Only thing holding it down is that it appears the game is completely broken if you have a windows mixed reality headset.
So all the budget VR users are a bit fucked atm. should get patched though.

2 hours in, it’s pretty good so far. A good chunk of time was introducing the physics based body and interactions - it’s weird to get used to at first but makes sense once you get a feel for it.

Kinda feels like a half life game with the premise and its gameplay being a mixture of shooting/puzzles. Saw a couple blatant hl references too

The guns are REALLY satisfying, especially with slomo

I have to play it in short stints due to feeling sick, and it lacks savegames lol. For some reason it won't let me try sandbox mode. Other than that it's pretty neat.

Tried it out with the index controllers, took a while to get the hang of it but it's fairly fucking radical.

Got a bit sick the first time around, hope that gets better over time.

Aye, a lot of people are getting into vr with boneworks and it's not the best title to play if you haven't gotten your "vr legs" so to speak; locomotion movement is really weird and takes a bit getting used to

Just pace yourself, play for 20-30 minutes at a time and you'll get more comfortable with it

Yeah, I've had VR for a while. I'm more used to the ole walk a few few in game, and then walk a bit with the pad. Using the pad makes me a bit sick, but I'm sure it'll get better. Killer fucking game though, especially if you have the index controllers.

apparently the devs wanted to make a half life game out of it originally but valve said no cuz they were working on their own title and didnt want confusion
