That aside, can you explain a bit more about accent colours and what you mean by that? I'm not much of a CSS wizard so I probably won't be doing too much more in terms of improving looks, but I'm not afraid to change things up a bit here and there.

The colours are pretty much grey on grey - adding some colour to important things like titles, certain sections, dividers, etc. can make it look a bit nicer. It's up to you what elements you change but it's a good way to break up the pretty monotonous colour palette you have going on.
