QUESTION 1 - What is your outlook on the Combine/Universal Union etc.
"Well... Their arrival was quite timely. Sure they flipped my life upside down but in a good way. My previous job of lifting shit and bricklaying came in handy while working in the factories so it wasn't really new territory for me. They've brought stability and order to the planet and I'm really grateful for it."
QUESTION 2 - Why do you wish to join the Civil Protection?
"I want to join the Civil Protection to make a bigger difference in this world. To be a part of what keeps the order and peacefulness. I didn't manage to join the Police before the Combine came so seeing that I could enlist into the CP practically made my eyes bulge out of my head. Its freezing out there and to be frank I'm sick of spending a good chunk of my day stood around a barrel fire."
QUESTION 3 - Describe yourself.
"Oh, well. Quite straightforward. I'm a pretty talkative guy I'd say. I make friends quite easily and I think I'm very likable as I don't think I've ever made myself an enemy of someone. I'm quite a nice guy which might be a bit of a bad trait considering the line of work but I'm capable of putting it aside if I need to."
QUESTION 4 - Describe your life prior to the Occupation.
"Ah... I can do if it's necessary but it's not very exciting... I grew up in a pretty dysfunctional family as an only child. My Dad was almost always drunk or asleep when not at work and my Mum was a drug abuser. Simple as that, really. They didn't give much of a shit about me besides the basics of making sure my hygiene is alright and that I'm fed. Once I was of age I tried to apply onto the Manchester Police but I didn't manage to get in, wasn't educationally qualified or some shite so I ended up a bricklayer. They're both dead now, I think. Doubt they would've lasted long anyway..."
