i meanon another note, i dont really mind the lore either-way because my only real gripe was playermodel equipment, if the lore advanced it to 2007/2009 level of equipment, id probably jump back in a heart-beat.
not the weapons, the uniforms and bodyarmori mean
"mainstream" weapons are used to this day. there's some cold-war ish guns in the pack
in terms of vehicles and heli's, not more than a straight up reskin to a NATO APC would happen but heli's and other things would be pretty much the same thing i bet.
tbhnot the weapons, the uniforms and bodyarmor
soviet body armor was actually pretty good up to 2016, all that happened was changes in camo patterns. as for insurgents, it depends on how much the insurgents are getting supplied by nato if they're co-joined into an irregular army, but at best i only see insurgents getting hand-me-downs unless nato becomes generous and gives out state of the art body armor.tbh
that'd just be nato i imagine?
unless we wanna have more modern gear, afaik soviets used cold war equipment up to like 2008? as for insurgents, they'd probably never change
NATO wasn't supplying them in armor to my knowledge? (Atleast in stasiland times). It was just weapons and stuff. Insurgents were left to make their own armor. Which i bet will still be a thing.soviet body armor was actually pretty good up to 2016, all that happened was changes in camo patterns. as for insurgents, it depends on how much the insurgents are getting supplied by nato if they're co-joined into an irregular army, but at best i only see insurgents getting hand-me-downs unless nato becomes generous and gives out state of the art body armor.
well, stasiland was enclosed in an occupied city wasnt it? kind of difficult to smuggle any type of gear in-bulk to a nation that's within the iron wall. if insurgents are co-joined with NATO, then i dont see a reason why they'd atleast not give them some basic body armor. regardless, however it's handled, cant really complain with it. atleast one thing i hope for if this is given a chance, i hope it wont be simkas models, because christ some of simkas model packs are absolutely horrendous in quality and i cant stand looking at them.NATO wasn't supplying them in armor to my knowledge? insurgents were never given any NATO equipment/weapons, usually stuff you could get from a blackmarket. NATO's gonna have some specialised equipment that the insurgents probably won't have if we follow this setting.
Afaik, we were only supplied when the city was taken over by the insurgents.well, stasiland was enclosed in an occupied city wasnt it? kind of difficult to smuggle any type of gear in-bulk to a nation that's within the iron wall. if insurgents are co-joined with NATO, then i dont see a reason why they'd atleast not give them some basic body armor. regardless, however it's handled, cant really complain with it. atleast one thing i hope for if this is given a chance, i hope it wont be simkas models, because christ some of simkas model packs are absolutely horrendous in quality and i cant stand looking at them.
Imo. Have Special Forces grade vests left out for NATO. Have them accessible through events, or NATO just supplying them to insurgents. Best to have Commando and mercenary craftable. and militia left for requisition.it's kindof a shame we didnt get to use the custom NATO models for very long.

I reckon for the insurgents/mercenaries/whatever we'd use the custom Stasiland civilian models, and have them be able to buy the loose protective vests from vendors, such as the mil-grade vest and sf-grade vests to wear over their regular models.
I guess we'd either make the craftable merc suits buyable from vendors at higher prices or have them remain as a crafting recipe.
imo, the models could have had the classic hl2 heads instead (with all the BG's)those models are really good
would have also liked the ability to have gloves tooimo, the models could have had the classic hl2 heads instead (with all the BG's)
just adds a bit more diversity
Early to mid 2000s aka 2000-2010 would be so fucking nice, cause i'd like some major balkan action type shit, like bosnian wars, cause they're really not that explored within the 'war' type of games. would be cool if some big ass balkan conflict broke out such as a civil war that'd do the story some good.on another note, i dont really mind the lore either-way because my only real gripe was playermodel equipment, if the lore advanced it to 2007/2009 level of equipment, id probably jump back in a heart-beat.

the ww3rp community from 15-17 was literally the worst part of nebulous imaginableI always feel like WW3:RP 2014-2016/2017 managed to have the perfect playerbase at the perfect time that could transition from S2K into RP seamlessly and enjoy both aspects the server had to offer.
If anything could capture what that had it's this community, I'd say.
Honestly speaking, I feel like most of this is down to either nostalgia, a closed perspective because people played in groups strictly comprised of their friends or both.I always feel like WW3:RP 2014-2016/2017 managed to have the perfect playerbase at the perfect time that could transition from S2K into RP seamlessly and enjoy both aspects the server had to offer.
