Perhaps make it so that selecting BURGER on the register will have a drop down menu pop up, where you can select different meals at different prices.
And selecting the other foodstuffs, (DONUT, SODA, SHAKE, etc.) will also have dropdowns for specific flavors.
This might prevent the register from getting too large and needing more buttons if the buttons used now can become multi purpose.
