Hey,
I'm wondering what your favourite statue is as I'm interested in the history and potential aesthetic you may find attractive.
Mine is Brabo; located at the old market in the city centre of Antwerp where I grew up, this statue always looked cool and it even has water jets that sprinkle in the summer.
It tell the story of the river Schelde. There once was a Roman giant called Antigoon who had blocked off the river from trade, he'd murder everyone not abiding by his embargo and cut off the hands of skippers. Until one day a young hero by the name of Brabo who stepped up to the giant and challenged him. Brabo defeated the giant and cut off the giants hand which he then subsequently threw into the river Schelde as depicted in the picture. Folklore dictates that this is how Antwerp got its name.
From "hand werp" which translates to "hand throw" in English.
I think it's a marvelous statue with a great story and it looks badass in the middle of the city Square.
This is also why our weapon shield looks like this;
Let me know what your favoriete piece of art is.
