Alright, I'll work my ass off for this shit. I got that gut again but luckily enough didn't lose my gains.
remember to bring food for anything above 20km

protein bars, meals you can hydrate are also good

takes me four hours to go 20km so you can imagine your level, the optimal is 5km per hour.

my latest best was 10km with shitty footwear. I remember saying 20km, but that wasn't true at all. i thought i did it, but i actually didn't. lapse of judgement or some shit, whatever. last time I brought dried meat, 2 protein yogurts and 3 bottles of water.

my plan will be to do that 10km again. i wasn't fatigued (due to caffeine), so i dont count it as legitimate. i'll do this naturally until i feel comfortable with adding 5km on top of it.

you don't need all of this for 10km lol

I don't bring anything to eat with me when I walk my 15km ususally, only water.

When you get above 20km you can go a lot further, it's just in your head

i didn't eat properly beforehand, i thought i could pull it off on an empty stomach, since i did the same thing last summer with success. turns out i got my ass kicked halfway through and was lucky enough to have brought food

I usually keep from eating beforehand so I burn as much fat as possible, then I make sure to get a protein and carbohydrate rich meal when I get home. Max I eat during the 15km is a banana or maybe a protein bar, the rest is water to flush any lactic acid quicker

Alright, thanks for the advice. All I need now is some walking shoes so my feet don't end up FUBAR

Invest in good socks too, trust me

Switch them every 5-10km depending on how much you sweat and your feet will love you for it. If you already have talcum powder, rub your feet with it when you stop to take a break. Make sure you walk for 50 minutes and rest for 10 minutes. No more than 10 minutes, because otherwise your body will cool down rapidly, and it'll make your feet hurt like fuck when you start walking again

I also recommend removing any dead/callus ridden skin beforehand to prevent blisters

Think about your feet how you think about your hands when you're about to lift something heavy

You want dry, and cool hands for it. Sweaty and hot hands means blisters/calluses

what if you made so much progress cycling that you could cycle up a 200m 24% gradient climb without breaking a sweat

only for someone to run you off the road, into a kerb, and drive off, demolishing about 2 months of progress for about 3 weeks of recovery

i was rolling through the air, they went off down this side road, and because my feet were clipped into my pedals i couldn't get out and chase after him
