From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Fraternity of the Elysian Sun was an esoteric group of male and female volunteers largely influenced by the .:O.B.C:. and its teachings.
Unlike most subgroups under the umbrella of The Order, the Elysian Sun did not seek to wage war. In fact, at some point, the group restricted the use of weaponry strictly to the necessary for all its members.
According to Post-War studies on ultraloyalist groups, the Elysian Sun was initially formed by members of Seventieth's Administration aiming to prepare society to be restored when the War ended and all sublunary ethics had been cleansed from civilization. Their vision of society was one under the teachings of the .:O.B.C:. The group only recruits from the civil population.
Ultimately, they sought to initiate the process of replacing Morality and Ethics as we know them. The Great Rebirth of Men, as written on an undated manuscript found on the ruins of an F.E.S bunker. Not through traditional indoctrination, but rather, through a thesis collectively written by members of the F.E.S. In this thesis, they saw the war being waged on sublunaries as the means to either replace the masses or to mentally decimate a man enough to put them in a state of complete submission. Through the complete destruction of what was built before the War (socially and physically), the common man would be able to be born again.
However, the group did not see humanity as an obstacle unlike others .:O.B.C:. subgroups (i.e. Extinctionists). They advocated for the reconstruction of the Combine society on Earth with Humanity as the younger infant of the Combine's collective of species. As a result, they too advocated for the removal of the suppression field and the entrusting of Humanity with the ability to procreate. Extensively (although preferably through the assistance of machinery) and as a primary focus for all Civil Administration Boards. This is also one of the main reasons the Fraternity often employed women into their ranks.
Not only they aimed to rebuild a society in the eyes of The Order, they too sought to replenish Earth with a new generation of people. A generation according to their teachings.

(middle - Elysian Sun, representing the universal unification and communion).
(right - Ankh, representing the ascension of mankind into eternal life.)
(bottom - Triple Cross of St. Peter, standing as a beacon of mockery for Christianity and all old-world religions. The number 3 is related to the Holy Trinity).
