Suggestion General OOC Change?

Make it all smaller. That text shouldn’t be as big as it is. They should be tiny little almost ignorable blurbs. Like size 8-10 font. Or as big as the text is on my mobile phone IRL right now typing out this thread.

Maybe even add a blacklist or a long time out system for people who are clearly abusing it to ask dumb questions like “how do I get benefits?????” knowing full well everyone has to see that shitpost mid RP.

I don’t want to have it turned off entirely, if not only for the fact that OOC is important to convey some things (like if a crim’s game crashes mid chase and they gotta resume as example), but it’s just way too noticeable and it’s being used for dumb shit or by people trying to, intentionally or otherwise, metagame information that should be learned ICly.

Oh. Feels like it should just be…smaller by default then.

I’m so used to having to type a command like HUD to change hud settings, or go through the game menu not go through the phone for OOC game changes like that. 😭😭😭

I don’t think it should be toggable, only because when OOC does need to ACTUALLY be used it NEEDS to be seen and not left to chance that the person that needs to see it has it enabled or not.

To expand on this more: if I hold someone hostage and they crash and come back to the server but we can’t coordinate OOC when they log back on to get them back where they are, the assumption might be made they just DC’d to avoid RPing leading to a unnecessary player report or ban. You can surely imagine the annoyance and animosity that it will cause.

Staff also use OOC to communicate with us as necessary. This is also another example of something that cannot be left up to chance regarding a toggle.

OOC should always be viewable for the sake of necessary communications, just not nearly as visible as it currently is.

okay so i checked out this option and unfortunately it's just one scale for everything. ideally i just want OOC to be much more smaller and less noticeable, i've been fine with the default scale of other stuff.
