the 1070 is good and all but a 1070 is overkill for 1080p/60Hz
I'd say to try and pick up a second hand 8gb rx 480/580 when ethereum inevitably crashes and people panic sell to make back their investment - hopefully for a discounted price.
It performs similarly/the same as a gtx 1060 and has better dx 12/vulkan api support.

though really, most last gen graphics cards can run gmod fine - I'd say it focuses more on cpu more than anything.

I agree with him, a 580 and a i5 6700k would prob run Hl2rp pretty well I hope.
