Remember that museum thing that was a total clusterfuck? Like it was supposed to be the peace treaty or something? I thought it was funny how there were people legit aiming snipers from the vents, and everyone was "oh my god look!" and people were like "dont metagame!".

Or maybe I dreamt all that because it feels like a fever dream lmfao.
I don’t remember but I’d be concerned if you’re having roleplay induced dreams

I'm going to switch over fully to Stasiland.

I've played Half Life RP for a long time. My interest over the years has waned, and recently it has died off. A big thing that kept me around was CAB, and I love the faction. However, I don't have much left to offer. I've played through the extent of my wild characters and had a ton of fun with many people. At a certain point however it just gets stale and the gamemode has me a bit frustrated. The fundamentals of Half Life 2 RP are boring after so many years at it, and some just aren't willing to change from it.

The reason I liked CAB so much was due to the creative freedom. However, over time the freedom and creative things have dwindled with arguments, infringements, and the dying off of things like Rebel RP. I've tried out almost everything on the server. Civil Protection doesn't interest me because there's a 'lack of roleplay' in my opinion, with people focused on getting to the next tier and beating muh shitizen quota along with the grind of it, it's like a responsibility. Rebel RP, while fun, isn't very active. I found myself loving it, but there isn't much to do without events, caravans, etc, so I only found myself hoping on for them. Along with that you either had to have connections or a fine grind to get to where you were a prominent person. Union Organization Roleplay could be very fun if you were creative. However, I just loved CAB. During my tenure I tried to make some major changes. The legislation of non-uu food was my greatest achievement and a lasting mark (it only worked the second time I tried it.) The Gradient Conformist Reform was another major project which got pushed through after collaboration between myself and whilt. However, due to issues with developers and HCs, it never went through and has sat stagnant for nearly a year now.

When Stasiland was announced I was a bit skeptical and was still riding high on HL2RP. However, around June/July when the subforum released I was set on the hype train. I stayed on the train until about October, when hyped died down a bit for myself. I was still actively playing CAB until November with BOREALIS. It was after this and the leadup to REPUBLIC when my interest in CAB died down, finally dying with the end of REPUBLIC and a great storyline lasting over a year. I feel as if others in CAB have felt the same way, and at this point many people in the faction are exhausted with it all. Another fact of the matter is that most of the people in CAB are inherently interested in Stasiland in one way or another. Back on topic though when Stasiland progress resumed I was set on fulling transitioning over. Down the line, even with a bit of a hand in Rebel RP I'm still transferring over. My expectations have been high and always have been high for Stasiland.

With the event on Sunday my hype has reached a whole different level. Despite not being in the Soviet Faction, I assisted as a helper throughout the event. I saw the workings of it, and it was just bloody amazing. I can't wait.

Stasiland, here I come.

Honestly, I don't know yet. I will most likely spend at least week of playing stasiland before I can fully decide.

Like both servers are interesting even though HL2RP is lacking with a ways to develop your character. On the other hand I've spend majority of my time on HL2RP and I am more than sure I have tried every single faction I wanted to. I have developed characters there and I would like to finish their story, even though I feel like it will take some time to do so.

Stasiland looks promising. Especially the fun you can have as a soviet. Like look, you are pretty much the only faction speaking Russian and then there is Stasi with their broken as fuck Russian language skills. The fact that everyone can be your enemy sounds like a fun and obviously it will make you worried whenever you will patrol the city or outskirts of the city.

Im gonna probably return to my roots and completely move to ww3rp again like I did back in CW.

Have your expectations changed?
Not really, I always expected it were to happen sooner or later that me and others will move, we came back to HL2 simply because ww3rp shut down, hell I even remember the hate WW3RPers got back in the day, the hope is that it wont happen again. Besides I saw recent the problems with hl2 and it kinda made me wanna play it less and less if I am honest. Still wish the best of luck to those still playing it.

If anything im actually happy stasiland is coming around, its a different take on the WW3RP lore, and seeing all the old guys I used to play with come back just gives me more motivation since most of them will create fun stuff. @Powley see you in the k3mlin dance floor.

I can respect that HL2RP has a formula that it sticks to but it's been so long and I feel like so little has changed since the start that there's very few interesting parts of it left for me, I've tried everything. I appreciate the players who still cling to the magic, but for me it's faded a while ago. I need a new environment where I can exercise some creative freedom in regards to a different set of boundaries.

I also feel like Helix works a lot better for WW3RP because we've essentially started on something entirely new whereas HL2RP for me is always going to be the clunky, broken and nostalgic CW experience. I still hope HL2RP rolls on as it always has and the newer players stick to it like I did, it just isn't for me anymore.

why would i limit myself to one server

The idea of limiting myself to one server is wack. But I don't know if I have a lot of time with school so I need to either divide it well or pick weeks to be active, or just play one a lot.

As for why you yourself would, I don't know.

Many people feel that having to keep up with so many whitelists and server scheduling can be a bit confusing and time-consuming. Many people
I know have anywhere between 2-4 whitelist on HL2RP. All that requires you to be active in order to keep them. I found myself losing whitelist whenever a new game would come out.

Started RPing with WW3RP, and hopefully I'll finish RPing on it. I've played HL2RP a lot during my time on Nebulous but WW3RP has always been so much more engaging and enjoyable for me. I wish I could enjoy hl2 like some of the lads do, but after spending a few months in UM back on CW and having my HL2RP peak in the Italian gang I really don't see much left for me from the gamemode, mainly because whitelists like CP seem too restrictive in what I want to do as a character. I've also gotten shit from some players due to having started on WW3RP and switching after it shut down, so I guess I just don't like the OOC over-seriousness some people have, although it's commendable to be that invested.

I had already written up every personality trait and description for my Soviet character back in August, so I was pretty hyped for the gamemode coming back. Sunday's event just cemented that hype for me: this was so much more than the old gamemode, and luckily for me it wasn't that S2K focused (I'm shit). Honestly can't wait for the gem that is Stasiland, and sorry to my HL2Bros but I'm just too busy (mostly with life) to spend energy on two servers, especially if there's one I just don't get the appeal of.

tl:dr gonna play Honecker simulator 1992
