In the same way as how HL1 and HL2 stood out as a standard for gaming for their time, HL:A is going to be a standard for VR Gaming.
It may be a more niche audience, sure, but in the future it's going to grow and people will look back on HL:A and see it as the start of a new era.
HL2 stood as the start of a new era with Steam (and in-turn PC Gaming as a whole). HL:A will stand as the start of a new era with VR.

I'm optimistic for the game. Valve's actually making a game, that people will want to see.
VR exclusive or not, it's something in the future I hope to experience personally.

doom 2016 was very well optimized and if i'm not wrong eternal doesn't seem like a huge graphical leap so i dont think eternal will be too bad

there was literally a specific part in the game that would cause hard crashes of the game and was only fixable for mid tier machines by turning the game down to minimum settings

everyone praises the vulkan integration and i had no issues but i admit i played like 2 years after launch so im not aware of the crash. eternal runs on current generation consoles so i stand by my point tho

early release was an unoptimized mess imo

could rarely get above 40-50 fps unless i ran high-med
