In the same way as how HL1 and HL2 stood out as a standard for gaming for their time, HL:A is going to be a standard for VR Gaming.
It may be a more niche audience, sure, but in the future it's going to grow and people will look back on HL:A and see it as the start of a new era.
HL2 stood as the start of a new era with Steam (and in-turn PC Gaming as a whole). HL:A will stand as the start of a new era with VR.
I'm optimistic for the game. Valve's actually making a game, that people will want to see.
VR exclusive or not, it's something in the future I hope to experience personally.
