it'll go down good when it has some backbone behind it.

wdym?
look i'd love to explain myself but this is a screenshot thread and even if i did go into my rationale i'd just be hit with i aint reading allats and people disagreeing with my idea not out of any logical retort but out of the mere suggestion offending their sensibilities
you can't even say the non-RP format of conflict resolution is antithetical to a RP server without some moron saying they like joining the RP server to play team deathmatch
fair enough, i'm just saying it was tried then, it was born out of the player's will and story leading up to that point, and it still went wrong
The guy who yelled "Thanos car" during that time would then go on to create some of the most memorable characters across Helix iterations, I think we can expect at least a little better of an average nebhead when pulling up such old data.that went down great during Red Letter Day

See the problem is not that the same people will do it, but others who come after
After all there are people who still have a deeply rooted sense of competition

just because he went on to create memorale characters doesnt wash out the fact that he did some stupid ass shit
i will never let him live it down
years from know when this site is gone he will receive yearly reminders in the mail
There wouldn’t be another side’s backlash to face if you just made it a PvE type deal (admin controlled opposition)You can't make everyone happy in this gamemode no matter how hard you try. I'm experiencing that myself, now. Just pick a side and deal with the other side's backlash as best you can, imo.
Then they'll hate the admins instead of the other players. There wouldn’t be another side’s backlash to face if you just made it a PvE type deal (admin controlled opposition)
Accusations of admin bias are a lot harder to shake when you are the ones responsible for putting every event character/NPC against the players.
I've had more than one situation where, because players lost against event actors or NPC's, they jump to claiming bias or that it was a scripted loss. It isn't remotely fun to deal with because literally nothing you say can convince people otherwise when they know staff are responsible for absolutely everything they come up against.
its easier with NPCs since they have fixed movement/damage values but someone eventually complains about the spawn rate anyway. or sometimes you try to railroad the players into 'losing' for a more interesting story but then the leadership elements get mocked IC for showing "incompetence" / demoted (through no fault of the event runner) and that's very unfair and their only defense against it is to pass the blame onto staff
no you wouldnt be S2King the NPCs
NPCs in this case is more "admin-ran characters" like enemy OTA or villains
not 30 antlions spawned on a beach
nah i know what you meant im just saying in reference to what @Rabid brought up that its easier to dodge the bias problem with actual NPCs compared to admin characters
it is what it is though, definitely would be a good deal less toxic than pvp in either case
