my defining memory of the OTA is kidnapping a cop character for his suit, the admin who helped me logging off his character to help with a sweep, where he just gave the OTA pin point coordinates to my location through observer to s2k and PK me within minutes

in hindsight, that's probably what killed my interest in HL2RP long term

there was a strong community backlash against rebels tendency to resort to s2k, but i feel the server pushed rebels to s2k when any other course of action resulted in them being hunted down and s2k'd.

i think the most egregious incident was when rebels and cops formed a temporary truce because of some wider political shit, and then chuds kept trying to murder cops specifically in hopes of getting the truce broken so they could go back to regular S2K

Peeking back into the HL2 threads after a long long time really does feel like looking into an old dusty gateway. Lot of memories here, tons of good, tons of hilarious stuff, some bad things too of course. But it was a really nice part of my life while it lasted. Really hope everyone I played with those years ago is faring well. Loved the time I spent before I burned out.

I understand the reasons for locking the old posts for sure, but I do wish I could see some of them even still. Fortunately, I still have a lot of pictures saved still, even after I lost most of them from my system. Still got some small snippets of Bitterlake!

...Oh and sorry if this isn't the right place to post any of this, but I noticed other people reminiscing, so I figured I would join in.
