I'll give them some slack here; that video is two years old and they scrapped this style of gameplay shortly after the demo flopped (the guy said as much in the thread).

That isn't what the game is gonna be like now.

gameplay aside, the story looks trash, the shitty voiced protagonist undermines the HL2 source and the 12 year old tier writing/acting is beyond dire

I'd highly doubt it. Unless they'd swap the entire dev team, or gone through mass brain transplantations, it's going to be somewhat like it, or at least have it's elements

That's actually exactly what they did. Almost their entire dev team changed which is why this mod got so much attention; it came out of nowhere and has more surface polish than a lot of others do. It's also why people are looking into them having stolen assets.

Either way I'm not gonna buy it unless it's dirt-cheap and turns out to be a fun waste of time.

It's not that his voice acting doesn't fit

It's just that he's not acting, it's literally his normal voice - it'd be like if Mark Hamill used his normal voice for the joker
